Re: The Single Actions
I like that Bisley hammer idea. GG where did you get those grip medallions? I really like those, they look so cool (being that I'm originally a Texan. Lone Star and such).

Re: The Single Actions
I'll look into that. I do remember having trouble finding the exact same size as the original Ruger medallions.

Re: The Single Actions
Grips with Ruger can get mind boggling... at least for me.
Way down south in Arequipa, Peru till June 2020.

I forgot to look this up the first time you asked but after 20 minutes of searching, I figured out where I got those medals four years ago.Gunny268 wrote:GG where did you get those grip medallions?

Re: The Single Actions
Thought about it and went back to 'smithing on my Single Six.
These old eyes don't work anymore with that patridge profile I put on the original front sight. So I confabulated a Marbles front ramp and front rifle sight. BIG DIFFERENCE. Now I can see that bead clearly.
Next part of the project is to gin up a shallow "V" with white center line rear sight blade. I'm pondering that I might make it out of a feeler gauge blade of proper thickness.
And, GG thanks for the "tombstone" source for the grip medallions. I found that Altamont sells birdshead grips for Ruger and they have a style perfect for this pistol. Now all I have to do is wait till they are back in stock.

Re: The Single Actions
I installed the rear sight blade and the results were as good as I'd hoped. Now I'm waiting on the hammer and I'll finish this project.
