How many 454 Casull were manufactured.
I know the lore says that there were only 100 480 Rugers were manufactured. Does anybody know how many of the 454 Casulls were made?

I'm not sure Rossi has ever provided the exact number of 454s produced but if the thread about what caliber is your Rossi 92 chambered in suggests that the number could be 8 times higher than the 480, so 800? Maybe 1000?GSB4243 wrote:I know the lore says that there were only 100 480 Rugers were manufactured. Does anybody know how many of the 454 Casulls were made?

I'm the guy that talked to Legacy, the outfit that arranged for the 480 Ruger to be produced. They only ordered 100.
My guess on the 454 Casull would have been less than 1,000, in line with what Trailboss has suggested.

Re: How many 454 Casull were manufactured.
That makes me feel like a lucky guy indeed, as I have a 454 stainless. I have all the guns I could ever want and at my age (70) really need to downsize. My buddy died and left 110 guns, leaving his widow a mess to deal with as she no clue the value of many of them. But!!!!!.....I will buy all the Rossie 454 stainless I could find, up to a certain price, of course. Think about it, leaving your heirs such fine guns and only 1 of a 1,000 on the planet. Now for a real look into how stupid I am. I found a 480 for sale about a year ago, for $750, and I told the guy I needed to think overnight, and of course it was gone the next day. Probably the dumbest guy on this forum.
"Any behavior is instinctive if it is performed without being based upon prior experience", lever action guns are instinctive, anyone can pick it up and know how it works... a natural extension of the human arms.

Probably not. With turning 65 this year, I finally realize that I probably won't get to shoot (let alone) everything that I wanted to. I halve a bunch but have prepped with my FFL to handle the sales on GB when I pass.OldGringo wrote:I found a 480 for sale about a year ago, for $750, and I told the guy I needed to think overnight, and of course it was gone the next day. I will add that I've spent my entire life looking for a rifle that specifically would meet all my needs, haven't found it yet and hope that I never do!

I like hearing this, it shows that deals can be had if a person looks for them. I think of it as a kind of treasure hunt. The 480 rocks.hcable wrote:picked up a blue 480 several years ago for450$ and just got a stainless 480 for 700$ ! couldn’t resist
