Hope you had some luck. I got a lot of fresh air and exercise so it wasn't a total waste.

Actually the deer movement was pretty bad. I have 115 acres in Ashtabula county and between 5 of us, we only saw 4 deer over the first 4 days that we hunted. Don't know where they go during gun season, but they are very adept at the vanishing act. Actually it was pretty windy on Tuesday and Wednesday and there just were not very many hunters out on opening day to keep the deer up and moving. Strange season..

Yah it has been strange, best weather in a few years and maybe that was the problem. I hunt the public lands down here, saw one opening day about 50 yards or better and accelerating, I had the Wizard no shot. Saw some sign the rest of the week but no actual deer. Hope to get out both days of the "bonus" week end.

I just added a new .44 mag 24 inch cresent butt for a little over $600.00 out the door to my .357,.45 colt and 480. Now all I like is the 44-40 and .454. But I’m 75 yrs and they are hard to find. For some reason I want the .454 more than the .44-40,but I’ll take the first one of the two I find. My lucky day.
I just bought a .357 16" stainless from Steve Young. Really slick rifle and handy. Wish I could hunt with it but laws here in FL are stupid. She's limited to plinking at the range, which I will be doing a lot of. Probably going to have to start reloading.
Currently have a 44 mag, 45 Colt and a 454 Casull. I am currently looking for an M92 in 357 mag also looking for a 480 Ruger but I'm sure that'll never happen.
