New to the forum...Rossi Overland coach

Post by my8trax »

Hi, after doing much reading on the internet about coach guns, and looking at some locally, I decided the Rossi overland was the only way to go if a person wants exposed hammers. I had a winning bid on one: there were a lot of good photos, and I can see I will have a little stock work to do. Does anyone know if the finish on Rossi shotguns were polyurethane or varnish? I am guessing varnish? And I can find no reference to an owners manual for these. Does anyone know of a link? There are reviews with exploded parts view, but can find no owners manual. I look forward to reading about all the other Rossi posts, glad I found this.

Welcome, I am sorry I don't have information on your gun. I assume instructions would be lacking as with most Rossi guns anyway. Are you looking to disassemble it? Most Rossi finishes are nothing more than a stain we call it shoe polish stain here. I am unaware if they used a varnish on the coach guns though. Keep us posted +corn to what you find you may be the one to help another even if we lack the information you are seeking.

Welcome to the forum. Don't know much about the Coach Guns, never seen them in a Rossi catalog under Braztech ownership.

they made them untill like 4-5 years back.
the hammers actually work and strike a firing pin to fire the shells, the right barrel is fired by the front trigger.
oil finish on the wood.

you could also get a hammerless Rossi with airc @ 28" barrels and fixed chokes, years ago.

Welcome,
Nothing on Steve's Pages.
I'd bet there wasn't much of a manual. The ones for the 92 are mostly 'don't do anything REALLY stupid!'
