John Kort is ill
John Kort posted this a day or two ago and needs some of our help. Your prayers would be much appreciated. Here's Johns post.
Prayer Request Lung cancer
#1 Post by w30wcf » Mon May 29, 2017 10:34 am
Guys,
Back in march the whole left hand side of my body went numb.
A CT scan indicated that I had a tumor in my brain . Heck! How did that get there?
Most of It was removed on March 28 and thankfully, I healed up fairly quickly.
Markers in the tumor indicted it was small cell lung cancer which had metastized to my brain. Yikes!
Gamma knife was scheduled for May 8 to go after the small portion that the surgeon could not get since it was firmly attached to brain tissue. However, an updated
CT scan indicated that the tumor had partially regrown ( I could feel some numbness starting to set in in my left foot and hand which Is how it originally started then progressed to the left hand side of my body being totally numb.) So…. The only other option now is WBR (whole brain radiation)which I have some concerns about. Anyway, I am 2/3rd’s of the way through that with 7 more days to go.
I would appreciate prayers for a good outcome.
thank you,
john w30wcf

Re: John Kort is ill
wow, that sounds like some bad stuff. I'm all too familiar with the brain type surgery. I'm still trying to get back to my normal 70% after the two surgeries last Fall, and mine were minor compared to that. He certainly has my prayers.

Re: John Kort is ill
Mr. Surveyor,
I too have some knowledge of brain surgery because my wife had whole brain radiation back in 2009. I lost her to the effects of cancer but that entire brain radiation, at least in my mind, was responsible too.
John is a fine man, deeply religious and very knowledgeable about firearms, casting bullets, reloading and the entire gamut of interesting gun stuff.

Added to the list.
They do keep improving the procedures but anything to do with the brain is tricky.
I've known two folks in that situation 25+ years ago. I'm going to have to look up 'gamma knife'.

Some of his friends are going to set up an auction type sale. When I learn the details I will post them for those of you who are interested.
