I have two EMF Hartford 92's in 45 Colt one with 20" barrel and one with 24" barrel. The 20" groove diameter measures just shy of .452 and shoots great with .452 bullets both 200 and 250 grain. My 24" barrels measures just over .454 and shoots terrible with .454 bullets even at 25 yards. I've tried all kinds of powder and primer combinations with no luck. I am trying to find some .455 or .456 bullets to try. Has anyone had any experience with a 45 Colt with this large a groove diameter? Does anyone have a source for bullets this large or a mold that will cast this large. In the past I have had my best luck with a bullet at least .001 larger than groove.
Thanks,
Ferret Master

You would probably need to take up casting and order a custom mold, Accurate would be a good source as you can during the order you can customize a lot of features of an existing design.

You might check with Penn Bullets and see what he can supply. He is quick to answer email.

this one only specified to pour .456 with ww alloy will do what you want.
do not hit the +.002 button when you order, or you'll have a light weight 45-70 bullet.
