Singleshot madness

Post by Steelbanger »

Yes, you read that correctly.

I have once again returned to the classic single shot rifles. This one is my late friends Ruger No.1V chambered for the 25-06. I was undecided as to whether I would have it rebored and chambered for the 38-55 then I stopped and said that I should wait then see what I will do.Meanwhile another No. 1 375 H & H, shows up at my dealers so what am I to do now? Since it's already a 375ish bore it could serve as my 38-55 simply by loading lighter loads with the components I have on hand. So I picked up some bra$$ and found quite a few bullets stashed in coffee cans. Look out whitetails come October.

Of course I am now wringing my hands while deciding which residents are staying here and which are going. My 24" bl. 44 Mag. CB is definitely on the blocks and probably another 44 Mag CB, this one is barely fired and has a 20" bl. I really hate to part with the 20 inch one so more study is in order here. Also being considered is a Ruger 223 bolt gun, the Predator with a laminated stock, adjustable trigger and enough weight to satisfy a younger man than I.

As things develop I will inform you whatever I decide.

So you done did it! I still want one in 30-30 Win and 303 British, but there is nothing I want to get rid of. In the meantime, I found a Winchester M94 Timber in 30-30 Win and 444 Marlin that I would like to buy. I could get both for $1500 which is a heck of a price.
