I just got an early '80s closet queen 92 in .44 mag. 20" round barrel. I'd been looking for one in either .45 LC, .44, or .357. Ran across a nice old pre-safety Marlin in .357. I'll still keep an eye out for the R92 in .45.

I currently have 5: A Stainless 20" 44 Mag
A blued 16" 357 Mag
A Blued 16" 45 Colt (one of my favorite guns)
A Blued/Color Case Hardened 20" Octagonal in 44 Mag
A Blued/Color Case Hardened 20" Octagonal in 45 Colt
All have been wonderful rifles, although the 16" 45LC is my very favorite of all these. Also have a couple of Winchester 94's, a couple of Browning BLR's, a few Marlin lever actions, a Henry .22 lever, and a Century PW87 (copy of Winchester 1887 lever action shotgun).

.357 with16" bbl. I have wanted a 357 lever gun for quite a while , and they seem to be the hardest cal. to find. I shoot mainly .38 and .357 revolvers and load a lt of ammo for this cal. It saves a lot of powder and lead, compared to the larger calibers and I am frugal (cheap). I bought this gun used and really like it. It shoots well, and is a joy to carry. Shots where I hunt are rarely over 50 yards on deer in the mountains, so I don't feel handicapped with iron sights, or the smaller caliber.

Funny I looked forever before I found my .357. Found mine shortly AFTER joining here. I never see them still yet look at the poll here.....it's by far the most common caliber of our members.

Howdy,
I have the 480 version, blue, 20" round barrel. Fun to shoot and good companion to my Ruger SBH in 480 or Harton built .475 Linebaugh Ruger Bisley.
Didn't know there were so few of the 480's. I let the first one I saw slip through my fingers, on sale many years ago at a Gander Mountain store in Corsicana TX. Got the one I have from Collectors Firearms in Houston a few years back. Fun gun.
I'd love to cut it down to 16" and fit some nicer wood but hate to mess with one of so few out there.
Tim
