A bit of news
I have been driving pick ups since the early 1970's. Those days came to an end on Friday when I traded my Toyota Tacoma on a 2016 RAV4, no, not the loaded with extras model but a nice serviceable one. One of its main features is that although it has front wheel drive, it has all wheel drive too. I guess I will have to wait until it snows here to discover these features but it sounds interesting. Three years and it will be totally mine.
Smoke is coming along at a pace which could be faster to suit me but he makes progress a little bit at a time. I had him to the vet this morning to receive a booster shot for Lyme Disease and as I was paying the bill he relieved himself at the corner of the receptionist center. I asked for some paper towels but the girl said she would clean it up.
All you folks in the rain and flooding have my prayers. God bless you all.
Frank

Re: A bit of news
I bet Smoke will log a lot of right seat time in the new RAV4!
Just back from three days in the flood zone (Houston), Dianna needed some surgical care related to her issues. All is well and back at the rancho!

Re: A bit of news
I've been considering a pickup but can't quite justify the gas mileage with a 130 mile a day round trip commute.

I did 204 from 1-2001 until 9-2001. Not fun.
I average about 10 MPG in my GMC because it's all city and a lot of idling AC lunch naps but I only drive about 120 miles per week now days so it doesn't hurt that bad. My wife's GMC is way better at about 12 MPG city....8K per year.

Re: A bit of news
First report on the mileage my RAV4 is giving. 27.77 mpg and I'm happy with that.
If you ever drove in PA you would have to remember the hills, mountains and construction delays and I have to drive through all of these every time I get behind the wheel.

Glad you're happy with your decision. Now move over and let SMOKE drive for awhile!
