Last fall about 3 days after Thanksgiving, 9am on my way to the post office, I about wrecked my truck when I spotted this out in a pasture.

Re: Mule Deer to lose sleep over
I saw a buck of some sort about that size close to the road about three miles west of St. Jo once on a foggy morning just at sun up. It was just in the digital camera age before camera phones could take a reasonable picture. I scared him when I crossed the rumble strips an eighth mile before I got to him but he stayed outside the fence on the road side in the ditch long enough for me to flank him and take a picture. The camera beep spooked him again and he jumped the wire fence. Stopped and stared 10 seconds then disappeared into the thick brush.
I gotta find that pic.

Nice rack!
I wonder if the guy in this picture got him.
(And hopefully he stayed out of the high grass.)

Re: Mule Deer to lose sleep over
I saw a big mulie buck's antlers sticking up like that one day, while driving to my gun club. At first I thought it was a small dead tree or bush with no leaves, then I realized it was a giant rack of antlers!
