SMLE Rem 600 Clone
Picked up the SMLE Rem 600 clone today and being a 600 guy, I'm impressed with the length someone went through to replicate the style with the Lee Enfield. A lot of attention to detail in the work. I remove the "huge" scope that came with it and put a compact Bushell with low rings and it compliments the sighting plain well. The rib has a "post" rear sight and a dovetailed front sight, the work is well thought out.
The Redfield Jr Rem 600 IER mount will fit well on the rib and would need to be drilled an tapped for it. After seeing the work on the rifle, I'm not sure if I will use it or not as the integral mounts would need to be removed but I see them as someone's work of art.

Re: SMLE Rem 600 Clone
Wow, someone went all out on that rifle. I don't know too much about the different models, but the scallops on the barrel look like a #5.
I think I'd shoot it with the scope you have now before deciding to modify it for your scout mount. If it won't shoot you'll either need to made some significant mods, send it down the road, or keep it for a wall hanger.

Very interesting looking. The barrel does look like a jungle carbine type. Let us know when you get to shoot it. I like mine with the regular scope mount. Sometimes .303 goes on sale here for 13$ a box. But I started reloading for it. You don't have to full length resize them. Just the neck.

Greetings
Neat looking rifle RD ! That is for sure one of a kind. That rib would be handy for mounting all sorts of night lights and optics for culling porkys or whatever else needs thinned out.
With round ball it would be a good bunny buster.

I hate to redirect but I have the information here: Lee Loader: Loading & Range Day for the SMLE
I think it will all end well but a little heartache getting there.

Re: SMLE Rem 600 Clone
I had alot of trouble with my point of aim moving. That was why I shortened the barrel and bedded the action and added a little piece of suede under the front of the barrel at the front of the stock. I almost gave up a dozen times till I got it right.
