I know I have said it before...bla bla bla , but some day I'm going to get in to doing this. They are a work of art, showed my wife, she agrees with yours.

Re: A Thing of Beauty (new NOE mold)
Well if your computer changes the color as much as mine does, your not seeing what they really look like. They are about 4 shades darker in "person".
When I hold one up to the screen it is amazing how much difference there is.
For a cheap way to try them, some guys just use an old cool whip container. Dump in some bullets, powder, and I think they call them air soft bullets(?). Swirl them around and rub your feet on the carpet and other weird things until the bullets are well coated. Then take them out with tweezers and set them up on non stick aluminum foil, and bake @385 for 10-15 minutes. Then size load shoot!
maximumbob could probably tell you better how it's done as I think he does it like this(not electrostatic spray gun)

How hot? I'm up to 715 on a AL mold.
Since my COUGH Zn COUGH accident I'm wary of temp. Did I write that out loud?
Damn the torpedoes, turn it up to 752 Scotty!

Re: A Thing of Beauty (new NOE mold)
Gas,
I really have no idea of the temp, I do not have a thermometer. I turn the pot WFO and cast like a mad man. I regulate the temp of the mold with my casting speed. I usually have to slow down or set it aside for a minute to let it cool down, every 30 or 50 bullets I drop. Bigger bullets like these and dropping 4 at a time, I have a hard time keeping lead in the pot. Then I have to wait for the fresh ingots to heat up to melting point.
I keep waiting for this old lyman pot to quit working so I can get a 20 pound Lee pot. I think that would make it a little easier for me.
This brass mold was a lot easier to regulate the temp on than my aluminum ones are. Did not heat up or cool down nearly as quick.

Re: A Thing of Beauty (new NOE mold)
Don I got some of Nathan's bullets to try but have not had a chance to load any. I am really curious how the coated vs non-coated is going to play out. Planning on using LilGun also. It might be warm enough this weekend to give it a whirl.
Those look great btw.

He did not give me the mold, but rather we swapped some bullets and parts, and he gave me this style bullet to try. Of course I shot one of my best ever 100 yard groups with that gun, using HIS bullets. So I HAD to have the mold.
What are the details of the load? If it was one of your best 100yd groups I am interested.
Thanks
Don you can disregard my question! I think I found it on another thread 18.5 lil gun and 357 brass 1900 fps, nice shooting
