My two M1's
Here are a couple of my 'other' firearms. I used both of these (not these particular guns) when I was in the army.
I didn't see any combat but spent a couple years helping to fight the cold war. Came of
draft age in the late 50's after the Korean war and before Vietnam.
I went through basic training in Fort Riley Kansas using an M1 Garand and then was
assigned to an Artillery Unit and went to Germany for about 18 months where I was issued
one of the smaller 30 M1 Carbine. Both are fun to shoot but the Carbine 'don't kick so much'.

I found another MI carbine that wanted to live at my place so I brought it home.
It is an M1A1 Paratrooper made by Inland. Nice looking and Nice shooting gun.....

Makes a neat home defense weapon. Lays nicely in a chest drawer beside my upstairs bedroom door....
No children in the house but I don't keep in loaded. Loaded magazines close, though.

Thanks for the comments. I am going to be making a short video of me shooting it.
