Lee Auto-Drum
Lee Auto-Drum
Has anyone here used Lee's Auto-Drum with the turret press?
There are loads for the .454 Casull that exceed the 1.57 max for the Auto-Disk; I gather from their site that it is more accurate than the Auto-Disk as well.

Post a link for dummies like me. Never heard of it and I have an auto-disc and a double kit.

Re: Lee Auto-Drum
I've been thinking about trying one. Let us know how it works.

Re: Lee Auto-Drum
So it's like my Uni-Flow with a lever added to work off the ram? I charge on my single stage press with my Uni-Flow but I have to pull its lever separate from the press lever.

Re: Lee Auto-Drum
I think it is activated with the powder through expanded die.

Re: Lee Auto-Drum
Says it is case actuated so it is not supposed to dump unless there's a shell in it.

Re: Lee Auto-Drum
Are they admitting the auto disc is unpredictable with some powders?

They have always admitted that, particularly Unique.GasGuzzler wrote:Are they admitting the auto disc is unpredictable with some powders?

Re: Lee Auto-Drum
My first, and current set-up, is the Classic Lee Turret.
Has been great for pistol reloading. Yes, consistent Auto-Disc loading with Unique is a challenge, but it works much better with Auto-Comp and CFE. Plus, I don't need match-quality pistols rounds, have come up with favorite Auto-disc loads. Anyway, Unique doesn't seem to be wildly inconsistent with varying loads, seems to be a very forgiving powder, so that variation hasn't mean' much to me with the recipes I load. Calibers are .38 Sp., .357 Mag, .45 ACP and .45 Colt.
Look forward to seeing more consistency with the Auto-Drum. I'm expecting delivery within the week.
