Re: There really is a Santa Clause
Don,
When I'm handling brass and worried about the fingerprints I typically us the nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight. I don't typically use them when doing the actual loading but only when dumping the tumbler for longer term storage. I tumble out on the deck or my bud's garage. Never had a lot of problems as long as I was loading in a controlled environment. Working in the heat and I'd need to load with the gloves on to keep from leaving brown fingerprints.

For now I'll try to come up with a way to grind this Lyman crap up smaller.

Re: There really is a Santa Clause
Not sure about the more pins would like to hear how that goes. According to "experts" elsewhere it only take a pinch of the Lemishine. I read it on the internet it must be true . I have a set of measuring spoons labled with sizes like pinch, smidgen etc. I use the pinch one for my tumbler. Found that much more gave the brass a color cast.donhuff wrote:snip
I am putting a squirt of Dawn 2x, and a big shot of the Lemishine, probably a table spoon or more. I have no problem with the cleaning part. It is doing great. I am learning how long to tumble different amounts of brass to get the same amount of clean. I also have some more pins on the way as I have learned that when doing a small batch say 100-150 9mms, it takes maybe 1 1/2 hrs. But on 400, 38 specials, it took 3-4 hours to get them to the same level of clean. So I'm thinking more pins should help with the bigger batches, and wont hurt on the smaller ones.

Re: There really is a Santa Clause
Too much citric acid makes the brass pink. Offset with baking soda if needed.

Re: There really is a Santa Clause
I don't measure hardly anything. I just turn the container up and dump a good bit out.
I'm very color blind so if it has a color cast, I wouldn't know it.
Whats wrong with PINK brass?
