Christmas Food
I am in shock. I have NEVER in my life had Sweet Potato Pie, a Southern boy and all.
The Warden up a drug one home from work, somebody made,,she won't eat anything with Sweet Potato,,I ate the whole thing.
I give miss Rosie a taste, of course.. Actually I gave Miss Rosie 2 tastes,,,,
Anybody else miss the food of yer life and not know it.

Don't ask me to do anything where where I can't take Bible and Gun, I would leave Dog home, but reluctantly.

Re: Christmas Food
I'm cooking for my grandson and his future bride for later tonight. I have my bacon wrapped meatloaf smoking right now along with a couple dozen bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos. Tomorrow at my Mom's request, for Christmas dinner, I'll light the fire again and grill some hamburgers to take to her at the nursing home for our "family Christmas dinner". Her favorite nurse's aid will be working so she's included in the family dinner ... and she requested I bring her some of the stuffed jalapenos. It's kinda funny that we would have arranged most any special meal Mom asked for and "a real hamburger" was number one on her list.
My wife is making more chocolate covered bacon/peanut candy at the moment.
BACON ... it's what's for Christmas

Re: Christmas Food
Sounded like a great time, Coop. Oh, the prawn looks mighty good, but I sure would like to have a big sack full of y'all's Red Claw crawfish ... the 10-12 inchers would do fine, but wouldn't turn down the 14 inchers

Re: Christmas Food
Greetings
Down here in Arequipa turkey is king ! But on the side are all sorts of dishes with the 100 types of potatoes, manchas (sea clams), camarones (crawfish) and items you would not think of. Most are very tasty. Cat still does not sit well with me.

Re: Christmas Food
Bible,
I make a couple of sweet potato pies every Christmas. I use a cup and 3/4 of sugar, a whole stick of butter, and a hand full of coconut per pie.
My dad use to do the same thing but would bake like 5 or 6 of them, and deliver them to several of his friends on Christmas eve.
