Military surplus 1911's
This article is from a gun rag on the net i always enjoy reading. Thought i would share this one for several reasons. First, who wouldnt want to own a Colt 1911 (im assumeing these are colts). The article describes why these are being offered to the public, how many, what you have to do to get in line for one, and about the clearing house the government uses for such purposes, for me, interesting to say the least.

There's no way KommieFornia is going to allow folks here to get in line.
No way they'll end up on the state handgun extortion list.

Its to bad all those Korean m1 carbines and m1 got destroyed because Obama would allow them to be imported I'm shocked these made it. As Obama wants to stop military weapons from civilian hands. If someone gets one please start a thread with details of the purchase and product.

Buy one and you're buying it twice.

That's funny, took me a second to get it. Let's just say, my dad, WWII vet paid for it the first time (thanks pops) !! Heck, maybe I could get a discount.GasGuzzler wrote:Buy one and you're buying it twice.
Regarding the surprise that the Obama administration would allow this was one point I thought this was interesting and does not fit his MO...still scratching my head

I remember the ones we shot in AIT down at Fort Polk back in 71. If you shook it it rattled like a bunch of rock in a can. When we shot them you were lucky to hit the target and I shot expert with all light weapons. I take one if it was cheap but just to keep it from being destroyed.

Well I'm assuming they are pre '68, this before I started paying taxes. Does not matter really, I get it.
Another thought about the article that's odd, by doing this, they save 200k a year? This has got to be that senators pet project, because of all the fraud and waste, I would hope they would be looking at numbers with a few more zeros to cut. (though grateful just the same) and please don't rant about gov't waste here.
Edit: good catch gas man
