Buffalo Bore 45-70
Has anyone had any issues with the RG 45-70 shooting hotter than stock amo like the buffalo bore etc? Has anyone shot ALOT of rounds of hot amo without issue? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I love my SS RG 4570, and have a stainless 2-7 Leupold on it. In 2 safes full of guns its my favorite grab!

Welcome to the forum. You might try the search feature to see what comes up and see what the Similar Topics at the bottom of the page offers. I'm loading my RG4570 to 35.0K PSI with both my 350 & 425-grain bullets without issue.bigkahuna wrote:Has anyone had any issues with the RG 45-70 shooting hotter than stock amo like the buffalo bore etc? I shoot mine 20 to 100 rounds a year. Pretty wide range but it just depends what I'm using it for. I've taken it on two nilgai hunts, both were busts from the critter killing point of view, but both times I prepped for the hunt by shooting approximately 100 rounds just before my departure. Off years, 20 rounds just to make sure it is good to go.

Re: Buffalo Bore 45-70
I dunno why but I keep looking at the Rossi Web Site to see if they brought a 45-70 back out.
I just got a feeling if I found one, I'd have a hard time talking my self out of it.
I'd go broke reloading the thing.

Don't ask me to do anything where where I can't take Bible and Gun, I would leave Dog home, but reluctantly.

Re: Buffalo Bore 45-70
Better reloading than buying new.
When I got my Winchester 1886 TD New ammo was $18-$21 a box or about a buck a round.
Now it runs about $30-$40 a box or about double although I have seen Hornady FTX's with the short brass for sale at about $27 a box.
At least components and ammo for .45-70 is pretty easy to find. .444 Marlin early this year was a royal pain to find anything in terms of ammo and brass was unobtainable.

KY Gun Co still has the blems for $387 with free shipping, it just doesn't get better than this.Bibletotingunslinger wrote:I dunno why but I keep looking at the Rossi Web Site to see if they brought a 45-70 back out.

Those that have bought the blems from KGC say the rifles are good to go.
