A beautiful day to be outdoors and how best to spend it than a couple of
hours at the range.
Unlike the crowd last week only two of us using the 100 yardstationsl
The seat swivels for right or left hand shooters and can be raised to fit the shooter.
Looking downrange, my target stand is set at 50 yards.l
And looking back ...l
No surprises using the new rifle rest ... Round One
158g Oregon Trail RFN Lead / 4.8g TiteGroup
First few shots went high ( cold barrel ? ) then settled down. LOL ... the Red Dot got very dim to the
point I could barely make it out and aha the low flyaway. Replaced the battery and bright again.
Round Two
158g Extreme RFN Plated /5.2g Bulls Eye
First shot high. But what can I say, both examples were very satisfactory for this old guy so the
verdict is still out to say which is best.
ha ha, with consistency it sure wrecks havoc on the backing ...
Another trip to Office Max.
A fun morning to be sure ... Jim

Re: Another Range Trip
Nice shootin'. That's one of the nicest range set up I've ever seen.
Life isn't about the toys you accumulate, but about the memories your create with those toys and friends.

Re: Another Range Trip
Thanks guys.
The 200 yard side is similar with ten stations and gets more "action" it seems.
In between the two rifle ranges is the pistol range with nine stations with max
distance of twenty-five yards. Imagine shooting down an alley, concrete block
wall with a ground swell on either side to prevent accidents.
Hard to believe but the SCDNR provides free paper targets, rifle rests, spotting
scopes and all the free advice you could ask for. A lot of regulars will police the
area and work with anyone to keep it a great place to shoot. Rifle shooters
must provide their own target stands that meet height standards and no metal
stands. Pistol target stands are provided but boy are they shot up !
Last week two of the regulars were pistol shooting and all I can say is they are
"expert" marksman. Both shooting scoped .38 wheel guns loaded with one round
and seeing who would be the first to miss the single bullet hole in the head of
the man sized target. I stood watching them for awhile then announced " I'm
leaving my pistol in the truck."
Another great day in store for today but man I've got to get some yard work
done, then reload for the next range trip. Jim
