CJ scope mount replacement?
I was trying to mount a smaller 3x9 tactical scope on my CJ and it won't fit because the scope has a very short mounting ring distance. Is there another rail that can be mounted that has more than 6 notches? Like for instance might have notches all across the rail? Anyone have experience with this?

Re: CJ scope mount replacement?
As AK suggested find a picatinny rail that will mount on the Weaver base used with the Rossi.
Here is one with a long picatinny rail: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mosin-Nagant-M9 ... 2a42b3fcfe
Of course, these options add to the stack. The trouble with the CJ mount hole spacing is that it is rather unique and I seriously doubt that you will find anything as a direct replacement. I've seen picatinny rail blanks that can be custom drilled and in that the CJ has a flat top this would be an easy choice: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... _PrefLoc=1
Just make sure that the blanks meet this spec…
You have experienced this but to help clarify your issue for others; all Rossi scope bases are Weaver style bases which are not picatinny rails. Many, most devices, that meet the picatinny rail mil spec will not fit on Weaver style bases.

Re: CJ scope mount replacement?
Well, as it turns out. I went back and tried to see if I could fit that short tactical scope on the CJ and it turns out that I was able to adjust the rings on the scope just enough to get it to fit. But two problems came up, one, the eye piece is too close to the cylinder and I get too much powder blast on my face and second, I don't really like the quality of the little tactical scope. So, I think I will stay with the Bushnell 3-9x40 scope.
