after reading about this mag tube problem I decided fix before the problem starts. the muzzle barrel
band screw is well keyed in the barrel so I opted to silver solder some stops on the mag tube. call it insurance. yes there,s 4 thou clearance between barrel and the stop.

Why on second rifle is the screw not all in? Good idea though keep us posted to how it works.

That second screw looks like the head is a bit thick and shaped a bit different from the one in my rifle.
Might be a replacement?

I went ahead and redrilled a bit deeper.... so far it seems like a winner.... no loctite... will run it like that first.

You really should not need to loctite it unless the screw is coming out all the time. There are parts I loctite but only on parts I do not need to service often and I don't want to worry about it. Keep us posted
