Nice looking Marlin 1894. It looks better than the Mossberg offering I think.

I would have taken a lever carbine in any configuration over that M3A1 grease gun we were still issued 71-74 as armor crewman. Only useful task I found that illustrious piece of headlight garbage useful for was to break the lock off the loaders hatch for a real "Alert" one fine afternoon in 1973 when the Arabs decided they could take on the Israli armed forces again.

It is a lot more utilitarian than the Mossy as the modifications result in a lighter, stronger more element resistant gun for harsh environments.
I could see myself owning a Marlin 1895G in this configuration if the metal forearm was some kind of light anodized rust/corrosion resistant aluminum/magnesium alloy for a rough & tough environment like Alaska.
Gun is lighter & much more rugged & could withstand drops & falls a lot better than a wooden model.
Metal forearm & synthetic butt stock stronger & more element resistant than wood which is prone to splitting, cracking and swelling and the accessible vented grill forearm facilitates much faster drying out, cleaning, oiling & maintenance.
If I was going to order a gun like this from Grizzly Custom I would request a takedown version.
