I meant could have been worse I have seen guns brought to me to look at why it isn't working right to find a bulge in the barrel and several bullets stacked inside it. Barrels were trashed. I am glad everyone was ok is all.

Oh.

After reloading for all these years, i have heard and felt enough booms and recoil, and the lack of booms and recoil, to know when I have an uh-oh. I have had a couple of primed but not charged rounds before too. Those usually don't get very far into the barrel.

This one was different. I heard a little thump, and saw a little flash out of the cylinder gap and powder was all over the bench. I knew to check it out before proceeding with the next round.

It's hard to believe that some people would just snap another round without looking!

Wow! .......guess some people never heard of checking a barrel for obstructions before shooting.
Lucky they're not at the hospital having chunks of gun pulled out of their faces.

We can do our due diligence and point the hazards out to them but we ain't their mothers.
We can inform the ignorant and show them the right way but as they say........YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID. :(

So I grabbed hold of the bullet but could not just pull it right out. Wiggled it a little and still no go. Then I spun it in the bore shearing off the rifling on the slug, and it came right out. Looked in the bore and there cat a gas check. So I took a rod and pushed it out toward the cylinder opening, and look what fell out first. Bout 1/2 of the powder charge, had formed into a lump at the base of the bullet. The outer skin had changed color like it had faded.

Ya think I should crumble it up and put t back in the can?
