New Guy With a Question
Howdy Folks!
Well I'm new around here and I have been tuning up my new Ranch Hand, which we all know is simply a short version of the 92. So last night I installed the safety delet and I thought I had lined up the pin hol properly but apparently I am still slightly off. The issue now is I can't pull the plug out and I can't get the pin in to secure it. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is it safe to fire with out the pin?
Yea I know the new guy screwed up on installing what should be a drop in part...please help!

Re: New Guy With a Question
Use a brass punch and see if you can manipulate it into alignment. best I can suggest I think a paper clip may work as well. keep us posted

Re: New Guy With a Question
That is the issue with all mechanical things in most cases the simple ends up tuff and the hard goes easy. I think it is becausewhen we know somthing is tough we spend more time prepping to be ready. which with easy stuff most of us dive in and then have issues. I am giulty of this as well. keep us posted.

Re: New Guy With a Question
I feel defeated today. I can't get this pin to go in to save my life. Luckily I have a good friend that is a gun smith so I'll be taking the project over to him to see what we can come up with.

Re: New Guy With a Question
Sorry to here that, still keep us posted to your findings. From your friend. So you could not get it to rotate so that the slot the pin goes through on the plug is aligned with the bolt bodies pin hole?

Re: New Guy With a Question
Well it appears to be in line but there is a little portion at the top of the pin grove that is blocking the pin from going in. Maybe I pushed the plug in a little too deep??

Re: New Guy With a Question
Well we still couldn't get the pin in and the plug just aint moving. We test fired it in the the hopes that it would loosen the plug up a bit. It didn't budge at all. I'm going to keep working the issue and see if I can find a way to get this pin in. At least I know it is safe to shoot...but I would reather have the pin in for peace of mind.
