I always put 5 or 6 coats of tru oil followed by two coats of Renaissance Wax... It's a 24 hour process but enhances the color and grain of the wood and seals against moisture ... I re wax every now and then after cleaning....Powhatan wrote:Perhaps a little wax on the wood to keep it from water damage?? What do you guys recommend? I think the color and wood look good but I have heard horror stories about rain washing it away..

How do you like that sight? How hard is it to put on?
I like it better then the factory sight, it doesn't shoot 16" high at 50 yards anymore My front and rear sights were very easy to remove and install but your mileage may vary on that. I have read that some you can push out with your pinky finger and some need to be driven out with a jackhammer..
