Rossi-Taurus Relationship
As the owner of a new Rossi R92 rifle, I noticed that the barrel is marked on the right side under the rear sight "Braztech, LC Miami, FL/Made in Brazil by Taurus". (As an aside, I have seen pictures of this same rifle model marked on the tang rather than the barrel. That was kind of cool, as it replicated where Winchester used to mark their rifles.) I have read that Rossi sold the rights and equipment to Taurus to build seven Rossi revolvers back in 1997. Since that time all the Rossi revolvers sold by Braztech were manufactured by Taurus. (This is currently on RossiUSA's website.) But I have never seen any official text saying the same was true for Rossi rifles sold by Braztech. However this appears to be the case. I looked for threads on this site discussing the subject, but came up empty. Please enlighten me or direct me to the appropriate threads. Thanks.
