New life in the spring

Post by Steelbanger »

Last evening, my daughter and son-in-law had some visitors outside their dining room window. The picture is very poor but you can clearly see the subjects. Mama had tags in both ears which indicated that she has probably been relocated a time or two.

Cute little buggers. Deadly, ferocious, might eat your face off. But cute.

Where are you located in PA? Are bears common, or not so common there? My family has a cabin north of Clarion in the Allegheny National Forest that we hunt out of.

I live in about the center of the eastern half of the state. Bears have become numerous here for the last 20 years of so and there are usually a few killed every year in Northumberland County in our very limited bear season. Two years back my daughter got a pic of a mama with three cubs, again in her backyard.

The only area of the Allegheny NF I am familiar with is around Bradford since I used to shoot silhouette there. It's 200 miles from my home to Bradford, but a very nice, enjoyable drive.
