He had an extra [img]on%20one%20end%20and%20an%20extra[/img] on the other..

"%20" is the character encoding for when you hit the spacebar. Any text inside an IMG tag gets interpreted into a URL, so the spaces between your words got converted. It's the same thing with URLs in the address bar of your browser. URLs can't contain spaces, so any spaces get converted into %20.
