I found H110 gave me more velocity and better accuracy than 2400. The 180 bullet was pushing around 2200 fps and the 240 around 1800 fps (I'd have to check my notes) but the group size wasn't to my liking with the 180's. The 300 gr bullets were slow, about 1500 fps if I recall. There isn't a deer walking that I would think twice about pulling the trigger on with a 240 gr Hornady XTP inside 150 yards. They hit like Thor's hammer.
Ya bigloop92, I fully expect the 240's to give me a good balance of knock down with the 100 yd accuracy i need. The XTP has a good reputation. When I get into reloading, I'll be starting with that bullet. I started to catch the reloading bug and have been digging into data and different combinations over the past year. The H110 and xtp are a good starting point. So much to learn.

XTPs are very good bullets. I used 300's at 1300 fps to kill a couple of fat does, from a 44 Redhawk some years back. Good expansion, plenty of penetration and a great blood trail.
