Found another 92 today

Post by m-saunoras »

Went out of my normal range to a gun show in WV today and came across a mint 357 mag trapper. It's a braztech with the lock on the hammer but I still couldn't pass it up. I had to wait over 2 hours to get the NICS check to go through but it was worth it. This makes 4 in my collection now :D

There was also a 357 24" octagon barrel there for $600 and I saw 2 circuit judges which I've never seen before. One was a 45 stainless and the other a blue 22.

I have seen a few 44s lately but this is the only 357 I have ever seen at a show.

It was marked "used" on the tag but it really doesn't look shot at all. It had a lot of mysterious fuzz in the corners which to me means it sat around a while. The loading gate doesn't have a mark on it.

I ran the number on the Rossi site and it came back with; Your Model Is R92-56008 Production Year 2012

I often think about all the firearms sitting in corners and other spots collecting dust. I bet there is a bunch of them.

That's like my 44 mag LSI Puma. I bought it new in December of 2016. I figure the gun itself has to be older than 2009 since that's around the time Braztech took over.

And I stuck another one on layaway that came into a LGS. It is a blued Braztech 45 colt trapper. I don't have any 45 Colt anything but I figure I can use my 454 Casull dies and be okay.

When I run the serial # on Rossi's sight it says; Your Model Is R92-57008 Production Year 2013. The rifle was listed as used but also mint. It has the original cosmoline still around the barrel bands. I thought the wood was messed up until I touched it.
