If you could choose a caliber?

Post by getdaguns »

If you could request or special order a caliber in any configuration of 92, what would it be? Mine would be a 327 Federal Magnum all day! I'm a reloader and the options to load from sub sonic to full house in a 32 caliber would be a hoot and handy as a pocket on a shirt! Second choice would have to be a 454. Go vote and hope someone at Rossi is paying attention!

This is a toughie. If you had asked me 6 months ago i wouldve said 454 or 460 for multiple cartridge options from 45lc on up, but since ive 1) learned that shooting different length cartridges in levers doesnt work that well, and 2) realized i dont really want that much power in the longarm's pistol cousin anyway and matched pairs were what got me into wheels and levers in the first place, then i really dunno whatd id asked for

If i had to pick one i guess i could still go for 454 since the others (41, 32 etc) just feel a little too close to 357 or 44 etc to justify, and speaking as a reloader i would already have .452 bullets so that would jive well with the rest of my operation

But then again(!) 480 Ruger would be a bigger caliber option *and* have less pressure so that seems practical and would probably, finally, get my vote

Dangit, did it again, overthunk something and sucked all the fun out of it

I picked "Other" ..... I still want a 25-20 (and plenty of brass/bullets)

My preference would to have the .454 come back into production. The ability to use multiple calibers has become A big thing to me. +corn

I'd like a 32-20 but if 25-20 were to show up I'd go for it.

I just elected .41 Magnum, but that's just because I think it's a cool caliber and for no other reason. I don't have any boolits for it or anything - just like the awkward history of the .41 intended to be an "in-between" .357 and .44 for police duty, but it didn't actually turn out that way.

Sorry for the ramble!

.22 LR or .22 Mag. Copy the Winchester 9422 not the Henry or other budget .22 levers out there.

In that I already have a Marlin in 41 Mag, I would vote for a 38-40 Win with it's .401" bullet. Plus, it puts a bottlenecked cartridge in the receiver. It should be slicker than anything that has been offered in the last decade.
