Mag Tube Picatinny Rail

This is an experiment, and I'm not sure I like it. It's a Beamshot clamp-on 4-slot Picatinny rail section (P/N RF-9). Beamshot provides rubber rectangles in four different thicknesses to adapt to different barrel sizes. The .44 mag tube needed the thickest adapter, but it seems to fit well, and it grips fine. I was prepared to trim the edges of the clamp near the barrel, but there's just a paper thin gap on either side. I replaced the black oxide screws with stainless ones that are 1/8 inch shorter. It could be the home for a sling mount or a laser. I might even try a bipod.

Another picture to show the big ugly spacer. Still, it's kinda growing on me . . .
