I have a 92 24" Octagon in 45 LC. It is tapped for a tang sight. Has anyone used a Lyman on these rifles or does it only align with the Marbles?

Sarg, I don't believe the Lyman is available with the correct hole spacing to mount it on our '92s. I'm using the Marbles on my 20" octagon and really like it. I bought the new style as it was what was available at the time. Not sure what post height you would need on the 24".

Make smoke,

Now, if all else is the same -- rifle not drilled for scope -- what is the difference between the Lyman and the Marbles?

Marbles is windage adjustable, Lyman is not (gotta drift the front sight). Don't know the difference in mounting screw spacing. I had to drill and tap my tang for the Marbles.

I had to drill & tap to mount a Lyman tang sight on my .357 Rossi. It works fine. You can shim the base to adjust windage.
