45 LC

I am looking for a 92 - 45 LC. I have a 16" 44 and 20" 357.
Have never reloaded for the 45 LC and looking for some advice what grain bullet works well in the 92.
Besides the 92, I will also be looking for a 45 LC single action. Most likely the Ruger 5.5" with the 45 ACP cylinder.

I got my 20" 45 Colt from this guy and it has been great, probably the slickest and best shooting R92 I've ever owned. If he has one or two left they should be of the same vintage.

I've known Mark since the early 80's when he had a gun shop in Independence MO. I was a rookie cop with a proclivity for gunsmithing and I did an action job on a S&W 586 he had, to get my foot in the door. He liked it and I stayed pretty busy for awhile doing the same, through his shop.
We've traded a lot over the years and he's good people.

My 20" octagonal was my first '92. I've shot commercial and reloads in weights between 200 grains and 315 grains with no complaints. It seems to handle sizes between 452 and 454 without a lot of trouble but in the heavier weights seems to like them fatter. My current hunting load is the Lee 452-300 that with my alloy sized , gas checked and lubed goes 315. With a stiff charge of H110 and the tang sight I can keep it in 3 to 4 inches at 50 yards. I think it would do better with a better set of eyes.
I shoot pretty much the same loads in my 45Colt/45ACP Black Hawk except the top loads for it are a grain or 2 less. Shoot a couple of the top end rifle loads one day and the hand said don't ever do that again.
The big Colt has been a fun adventure that continues on.
