It's been really slow so... new coat of oil on the 92

This site has been a bit slow of late.. I spent an hour this holiday afternoon hand rubbing in another coat of linseed oil on my 92 stock. Not only does this give me a pause in a busy life, but it gives another layer of protection and beauty to my favorite rifle. In the last couple of months I have added a Smith's follower and spring set, reloaded some Lil'Gun fire breathers and shot our department AR Qual course with my 92... I might add not only with an expert qual level but beating the time of the other AR shooters at the same time.... even having to load 5 rounds on the clock...

I've not fired a shot in a while. I have an un-shot and one with new sights since un-shot.

Not good.

No range near here.

I also shot our dept. qual with my 92 in 44 mag, 30 Cal carbine, and M1A. The 92 can really hold it's own.

So . . . I've been hankerin' to take the Rossi to the ASI carbine match. Are there any tricks or techniques for doing fast reloads? If I just need one more, I know the quickest way is to drop it in from the top. But typically for this kind of match, I'd be needing 3-5 more cartridges through the loading gate while on the clock. I've tried speedstrips, which work well for a revolver cylinder, not so well for a loading gate. I have an open shotgun shell pouch for loose cartridges. Suggestions?

The least you could do is add a picture. :)

But you don't understand, the AR as the 'blackest' rifle ought to rule the roost, especially if you spend $1500 to $2000 or so on it BEFORE optics. THEN the M1A either ought to be next as the next most evil weapon and also expensive. The M1 Carbine is an out of date toy and the R92 is only fit for use if you are wearing cowboy boots, a wide brimmed hat and rode a horse to the event AND you come in dead last since you are using technology that's 125 years old.

I'd be interested in this as well.
I'd assume either a pouch you can get your hand in or a dump pouch with a half dozen rounds as you mention or cartridge loops (leather, canvas or plastic) or cartridge box (Somebody used to make a leather pouch that'd take one of the Wichester rifle box inserts that held 20 rounds in a foam insert in a red plastic shell.) I've got a buttstock pouch on my scoped M1A that's got 6 or 9 cartridge loops on the pouch side.
Regardless of where the ammo is I'd assume if you weren't reloading from cover you might get called out on the stages in the examples I've seen.
