Re: .480 ruger
Not much to see really as a R92 is an R92. All five of my R92s are configured as the complete -002 scout rifles. It is the rifle in the back.Ranch Dog wrote:
Ranch Dog, you have one, correct? Would you mind sharing a picture, please ?
The 480 is exactly like the 454 Casull with the larger threaded magazine tube but the 480 barrel has very little taper and was not drilled and tapped for the base as the P892 base only fits the tapered barrel. I had mine D&T and a base machined for it. Mine also has had the proper saddle ring added as I like using the saddle ring sling when I hunt. Mine isn't for sale, but I would not consider anything less than $1500 to $1600 if it was.
If the GB seller had used the XS Ghost Ring sights and not done the mount work, I probably would consider it. The XS is a bit over $100 plus the drill and tapping. The Muleworks lever is worth a $150 and really needed to comfortably shoot this heavy recoiling rifle. If a fellow chased elk or moose inside 100 yards and liked the 92, the 480 Ruger fits well.

I never get tired looking at lever guns.
Thank you for the post

As an aside you think with all the consolidation of the Rossi line under Taurus theyll ever make 92s in the unique runs like 44-40, 454, 480 again?

I like that one except for the price, finish, sights, recoil pad, and lever.Ranch Dog wrote:Check out the Buy It Now price of this 454 Casull... http://www.gunbroker.com/item/672568329

Figured you would say that. Heck, I ought to list my 454 Casull and 480 Ruger as a pair for $3K!GasGuzzler wrote:I like that one except for the price, finish, sights, recoil pad, and lever.Ranch Dog wrote:Check out the Buy It Now price of this 454 Casull... http://www.gunbroker.com/item/672568329

Rossi M92 in 480 Ruger sold for $1400
The days of $500 M92's in 480R may be at an end.

Re: .480 ruger
I'm with trailboss on this RD. You'd kick yourself if you sold those two for 3k.
Make it a trio, add a 357/44 and sell em all for 4k

Been working on that hard for a couple years now, cataloging firearms & reloading equipment, all to be sold on GunBroker and eBay by my FFL.
