If the first point is at 100 yards, then he need one Extremely high sight line.
Something like 8 inches or more.

A 44 Mag 240 grains is around 1600 fps in a 20" barrel, according to ballistics by the inch http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/44mag.html
A Hornady 240 Grains HP XTP has a BC of 0.205
http://www.hornady.com/store/44-Cal-.430-240-gr-HP-XTP/

With a sight height of 0.7" it hits 1.7" high at 50 yards, with a zero, at 100 yards
That is According to the Balllistics Calc, at Hornady.com
Sight height is measured, on my own Rossi 44 Mag.

According to Strelok Pro, you need a sight height, of around 14-15 inches, in order to hit 5" low, at 50 yards, and dead on, at 100.

We saw a similar issue on an M14 years ago. The barrel crown was irregularly shaped, which changed the trajectory, though it was not as drastic as advertised, somewhere around 1" to the left at 25 yards but dead on at 100 yds, IIRC. It was discovered at 100 yards when slight key-holing was noted on the paper. The crown looked fine eyeballing it, but the mic found the offset. This in no way helps me understand a climbing bullet. Also, the armorer described that incorrect rifling could also cause the issue, but we had a lot of trouble believing that. Good luck.

Hi Shooters

I'm from Australia so much of what I have to deal with here will be different to most user's circumstances; I am in the process of obtaining a firearms license. The process here takes around 4 months, then you have to obtain a permit to acquire and abide by strict storage requirements.

I have already ordered a 065 in Stainless and 20" barrel chambered in .44 Mag. My question is, does anyone have a Marble's Bullseye Sight for this gun?

If so i would love the part ID so I can locate a supplier here and order a set of sights.

Thanks in advance for any help

Thanks Mad Trapper. How did you overcome the oversized Rossi dovetails?

The two rossis I put them on fit perfect, I was lucky.
If they didnt I would probably have used jb weld or some type of two part epoxy.
I remember a while back I replaced the front factory sight with a lyman globe on a 357 mag 24" model.
the factory front sight was held on with epoxy, from the factory.
the dovetail was so large that I had to epoxy the lyman globe .
