Rossi discontinued all octagons. Heres to hoping they bring them back after this moving around / consolidation business with their factories because i want a 357 20" octagon myself though it might make my 357 20" round jealous

They seemed not to be making very many of that configuration for quite a while.

I don't see anything in 357 flavor. I tell myself all the time that I'll never buy another Rossi 92. I sure wish they'd start making the 20" round Barrel, I really want one. I need one of these like I need another hole in my head.zippy wrote:They seemed not to be making very many of that configuration for quite a while.

26 months ago when I bought my .357 24" oct., they were already as rare as unicorns. Once I decided to buy one, I'd spent months actively searching and putting my name on waiting lists. Got lucky finding one at an OKC pawn shop.golfish wrote:I don't see anything in 357 flavor.zippy wrote:They seemed not to be making very many of that configuration for quite a while.
For a 20" round, I'd just cough up for the Winchester.

I've got the 24" Octagonal SS in .44 Mag, a 24" Winchester 94 in .44 and a 20" RB SS R92 carb and the carb is the handiest of the three. The octagonal is fun but it isn't quite the shoot and move or woods walking gun that the other two are and the 20" is just about right IMO. I suspect there's the reason that the vast majority of 94s ever built were 20" RBs. That goes double for the period after which open field long distance guns became bolts. At that point the levers really became woodland and brush guns.

I hear that, and after handling the 44mag 24" octagon that as much as I think theyre cool I wouldn't get another rifle that long chambered in anything. I know Rossi made a 20" octagon so lets hope that if (when?) they make them they'll offer that option againArcher wrote:Depends,GRV01 wrote:Rossi discontinued all octagons.
