I bought this 24" oct 357 from buds about a year or so ago.
Never fired it, just sat in the corner, until I could make up my mind on what type of sights to install.
I went with the marble arms tang and lyman front globe.
Then installed a folding rear leaf sight.
I finished it up yesterday, along with a lighter ejector spring.
I had already lightened the trigger, hammer, etc with a gunslinger spring kit.
I stained and tru oiled the wood but cant remember what stain I used.
when I tapped out the front sight and went to install the lyman globe it slid through and fell out the other side.
So then I went to reinstall the original factory sight and it slide through also.
I saw some yellow residue in the dovetail and under the front sight, must have been epoxied at the factory.
Didnt see any sign of solder.
I couldnt find my jb weld so used some gorilla glue two part epoxy, centered it up and let it set.
It is hard as a rock this morning and I cant budge it.
Only concern would be If i shot it enough to make the barrel real hot, would the epoxy let go.
I can always go back later with jb weld if I need to.

This is the pond at the back of the property.
I plan on building a cabin at the far end, very isolated back there, and much big game, bear, cats, elk, etc.
Some nights it sounds like Jurassic park out there.
