Screw holes under rear sight
Can someone tell me what the Screw holes under the rear sight of my M92 are for, their size, and where to get screws to fit? I installed a Skinner rear sight and two of them are now exposed. Thanks

Re: Screw holes under rear sight
They are for the Rossi P892 Scout Base and have a 6-48 thread. Skinner sells them, 2 for a $1. You could probably find them at a local gunsmith.juliano191 wrote:Can someone tell me what the Screw holes under the rear sight of my M92 are for, their size, and where to get screws to fit? Yeah, he needs to add a note to his product page concerning two filler screws for the Rossi.juliano191 wrote:And Skinner will mail them to you for $7.50....no kidding, Just checked. Andy at Skinner is a great guy but C'MON !!!!

Re: Screw holes under rear sight
I bought a gunsmith screw set including at least 12 of two lengths of the 6-48s and 12 of the 8-40s and another 90 or so assorted screws mostly for 'scope mounting' and a couple taps to clean up threads.
Waited for it to go on sale and think I paid less than $25 or 30.
So I've got enough to do my Winchester 94 XTR OR fill a couple 92 leftover holes at least six times over plus the extras. Compared to Skinner's $8 with delivery for 2 I think I might be ahead even if I don't use them all.

Re: Screw holes under rear sight
If you've got a local big box like Cabelas or Bass Pro that offer scope mounting services you could get a couple from them. The screw sizes seem to be only common to guns and it makes them hard to find at the more normal hardware suppliers.
