I read your thread and it was very interesting. I contacted Steve Young and he thought that with my serial number, K08xxxx it was probably made mid 90s to late 90s. I did get the gun yesterday and it is better than I had expected. The bore almost looks unfired. Hardly any marks on wood or metal. The thing I didn't like, ( the difference in wood shades on button stock & forearm ) aren't that bad to me now. I'll take some pics tomarrow.

Here's my 92 .357. Came with Org. box and all paper work. It's stamped model 92SRC which I thought meant
with the saddle ring but has none. Looking at the parts drawing it doesn't have one. Does SRC stand for saddle ring?

SRC does mean "Saddle Ring Carbine". What you see has been is what has been posted concerning the early rifles. Identified as such but no ring. Nice looking rifle!

Looks newer than my '87 model as mine doesn't have that "modern" numbering on the receiver but DOES have the saddle ring.

I Bought my Rossi 1892 in 2011.

http://www.rossi-rifleman.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4135

It is marked Armedeo Rossi SA on the tang, and was called Puma, on the box.
Frankonia.de calls it Model 65 Mi
Serial is SM003xxx

It has no safety.
Front sight is on the barrel, not the barrel band.
It is not drilled and tapped, for a scope mount, on the barrel.
It has the yellow plastic Mag follower.

According to the dealer, it was a "demonstration model" from Frankonia in Germany, and I got it real cheap, because it might have some dings and scratches, from handling.

I have no idea, how long it might have been in stock, in Germany.

They are still selling the same model, without safety, in Germany, but at 2½ times the price I was paying.

I have a "feeling" that the models sold to Europe, are still marked Armadeo Rossi SA, but I am trying to find out, by asking others from Denmark, how their new Rossi's 92's are marked.

One user in Denmark got a Rossi '92 2 years ago, brand new.

It had the safety, like the US Models, but marking on the Tang is A. Rossi, not Braztech.

I'm new here and new to firearms, but one of the coolest things in my opinion is knowing when your rifle was made. I have a Rossi 92 serial number K015xxx. My research tells me it was made in the early 80's maybe late 70's.

If enough of us posted our serial numbers I think we could compile some kind of list to start. Then it could be refined as more eyeballs got a look at it.

I'm really enjoying reading all of your posts and learning quite a lot about these rifles. Thank you!!
