My second Rossi 92---44Magnum

I bought the Rossi 44 Magnum that I wrote about earlier. Picked it up today, Saturday,
and I think it is going to be a keeper. Nice walnut stock, No flipper safety,
has the saddle ring, Puma emblem, action tight and smooth and cycles both
the 44 Magnum and 44 special as slick as pond scum on a frogs back. Inside the
barel looks as clean and slick as my new 357. I fired 2 specials and 1 magnum in
it just to try it and it shoots. I'll check how accurate
I am with it later. Pawn Shop buy, $300.00 out the door.
Don't know the YOM but serial is M01XX76. Barrel has stamped on it -
Interarms Alexandria Virginia ---and also--- AMADEO ROSSI SA

Charles, congrats on your find, an excellent looking Rossi. I very much enjoy the earler models sans the bolt safety. You got yours for a bargin price. I also just added a second Rossi M92 to my stable. My first is a Puma Medallion model identical to yours only in 38/357 and my latest is a 44 spl/44 mag pre-medallion. My new 44 was so tight I suspect it was never fired. I installed the Lee spring kit and added a Winchester adjustable rear semi-buckhorn and a Winchester elevator. I broke the 44 down completely and polished and fit everything by hand. I now have two very slick Rossi '92s. I can cycle each with one finger and both fire about anything I feed em including semi-wadcutters. My 44 mags serial number is also an "M" prefix but only 3 digit (M0002XX), I suspect it's a very early one in the 44 mag caliber production.

What kind of rear sight does your 44 have? Does it have the Winchester style adjustable semi/buckhorn or the thinner sight with elevator?

Thanks for the comments. I will look into maybe installing the spring kit before long.
The action works real smooth but does seem a little snug as it locks up. Going to do a
good cleaning and oiling and shoot it a little before doing anything else. I'm just well
pleased that it chambers and ejects both the magnuns and specials.
The rear sight is the thinner sight with the adjustible elevator but is more robust
than the one on my SS 357 that I purchased new just before I joined the forum.
