Rossi 454 bolt
I have a M92, 454, 16" stainless that I have had for a couple of years. Has always functioned well until this past Friday at the range. All 45 colt rounds fed and fired perfectly. Put a couple of 454 reloads in and they would not feed without some help. These have been better in the past, this time would not lift to slide into the barrel without help.
So today I took the thing apart to clean and inspect. The lifter(?) was rough, ridges across it, so I took it out to smooth it out . While looking over the bolt I see the bolt face has a bulge on the loading gate side where the rim is thin. On closer inspection, I see that at the thinnest part I can see a sliver of light where the bolt face and the side rim are machined.
My question is is this common or unusual, or dangerous?
Thanks for any help yall can provide.

Re: Rossi 454 bolt
Not sure I know how. Since I posted the small piece has come loose , so I pulled it off.
I will look for info on getting a pick out.
Thanks , Robert

Re: Rossi 454 bolt
RD, took photos with my phone, resized to smallest size(10%), still to big(254).
Can I send them to you?
Sorry, computer dummy.

Re: Rossi 454 bolt
Still not quite sure what you are seeing. Are you talking about the extractor at the 12 o'clock position on the bolt face?

Re: Rossi 454 bolt
Yes, just like that. Still holds the case. Can't really see what good that thin missing piece would be.
Thanks, Robert
