Circuit Judge 44 Mag ?

Post by AhnkoChee »

Are these available yet? If yes, anyone here own one? How do you like it?
They are a tad ugly but in a English Bulldog kind of way that it grows on you the more you look at it.
Always a fan of the 44 mag so I thought this rifle would make a good pig popper in the bush.

I own the 45/410, I ONLY did it to get the combo package, the gun is real nice to aim, light to carry, love the sites,,,cylinder rotation issues have bothered quite a number of shooters. Primers tend to bulge and lock things up, some folks can't even open the action. This problem could be the primer, or the gun, I dunno.
But I have read about this in a number of places.
I wont mention accuracy as mine is not the same.
Its like one guy buys one and is real happy, another hates it. but accuracy is not the problem.
Don't ask me to do anything where where I can't take Bible and Gun, I would leave Dog home, but reluctantly.

I played with mine a lot and solved the cylinder revoving issue. I did not think I could fix the problem
But I did..
Now I back in love with it. I tested it big time this morning.
I will call around town and see if I can locate a 44.

I never had a problem with the cylinders on either of mine despite shooting R92 type loads. My issue was that I could not get past the super oversized forcing cone; both diameter and length of freebore and a great robber of accuracy and velocity. Had they built it like they build their revolvers, I would still one both.

I did like the size and concept of the design. I killed hogs with both the 45 Colt and 44 Mag but decided I would rather burn the components and push the lead out of the R92 because of the loss of performance in the CJ.

I am getting different view points from different folks here and other places or people.
Seems most who own and shoot em are happy, some are not. Some have terrible problems. I suspect have been a quitter with some guns(sold em), I spent at least $200 working up a load.
for my Circuit Judge, and still refining it.
The Circuit Judge has design issues that are bothersom.
I suspect I have found a load that compensates for these issues, mostly.
So far, I am convinced we have energy, lots of it. I am not convinced we can get the accuracy
Ranch Dog wants. But it is good enough for me.

I have zero interest in .410 so the .45/.410 would only make a poor .45 Colt for me, but the .44 mag looks like it has a standard looking cylinder length. Is this not the case with these rifles in .44 magnum?

My local FFL, Tyler Firearms, got me a CJ44 through his wholesaler, Davidsons.
