Added a Red Dot to my Circuit Judge

I've never tried a Red-Dot but I read about them and got curious. A nice sale price and I bought one.

The CJ comes with a Weaver typr rail so it mounted easily.

I took a box of 20, .45LC Federal Target ammo.

It took me 10 shots to get the sight zeroed in.

Round 15 was low so I made another adjustment and the next 4 all touched. I don't see many like this so I am now an ardent believer in the Red Dot as a great addition for home defense.

My last 5 shots were shared with my range lane neighbor who was curious about the CJ. He fired off a couple and I fired the rest. 4/5 were touching.

I was very comfortable shooting it standing and with elbows on a bench. Recoils was manageable. RSO said he expected more recoil. I have a lot of confidence that I will hit what I aim at with this R-D addition.

My other CJ is "iron sight" and I sighted it in very easily. I feel that they are the perfect HD weapon.

Sexy! How do you like the Tuffy stock? Is the other wood?

I've had two different red dots on my CJ.
First one was an EoTech, with a Surefire light.

The dot covered 1 in at 100 yards, the CJ groups about 5 in at that distance.
I discovered that sighted for 45lc at 100 yards, 410 at 20 yards the sight was way off.
I later changed to a Redfield Counterstrike. I really like this scope on the CJ.
It has an adjustable 3 MOA red/green dot And a separate red laser beam. I have the dot sighted for 45 and the beam is sighted for 410. This setup with the light is great for home defense and nighttime varmits.

Is that the same flashlight mount in two different orientations?

Yes, it attaches to the scope rail and can mount on either side.
I changed sides to clear the scope adjustment Allen screws.

I don't mind the stock. Feels comfortable although the butt end sounds hollow. At least there's storage for 5 more rounds under the buttplate.

I have read about the wood stocks splitting in earlier CJs. The Tuffy was their response, I suppose.

I do like the additional stability from the thumb-hole. I like the angle that my hand has versus traditional stocks.

While I love the look of a wood stock, I prefer the dull, black synthetic for home defense. No reflection.

That's a nice solution that gives you options.
