It sez ALL other rossis..... right

Post by donhuff »

Here is the only rossi engine that I own. They use to be too dang expensive and powerful for regular Sunday flying, that I never bought one. This one kinda ended up in my possession and I dearly love it. Just hearing this thing scream out the RPM, and watching it pull my ugly stick up to the clouds, got me all excited every time I flew it.

The odd thing about this is, the motors and guns are made by the same rossi! And also made in the same factory! At least they were a long time ago.

The oddest thing about the two is that their motors during the 60s thru the early 90s, were the best of the best. The fastest, strongest, most expensive , and the highest quality of any model motors made around the world!!! And most of there guns of that time, especially their pistols, were pure junk. I think they were the first ones to be called saturday night specials.

can you tell I'm messin with you? ........yeah, I figured that one out.

now you got me wondering .... which came first, the Rossi rocket motors or Rossi firearms.

as for the original Saturday Night Special .... not sure if Rossi had a share in that, but I do have a vintage RG-14 .22 snub that certainly was in the designated category.

I got no rocket motor knowledge, but I was involved in the search and material recovery for the Shuttle Columbia disaster in the Nacogdoches County, Texas area. We found lots of things you rocket guys would have found interesting .... some we were forewarned to stay a couple hundred feet away from ... preferably upwind.

Don, always pushing the envelope! It says "Board index ‹ The Firearms ‹ All Other Rossi's" but I've got to give it to you. I love the engine and tale! They are made in Italy aren't they?

Next thing you know, you will be posting a tale about this Rossi... which I'm dying to hear!
