Rossi 62 Octagon

Post by 44-40 Willy »

My Rossi 62 is the long octagon barrel version. It was a special order when I got it, but has anyone else seen one of these? All of the other Rossi pumps I've seen are round barreled.

I put a Marbles tang sight on mine and it's more accurate than I am.

I picked up a Rossi 62 a loong time ago. @ 1985 or there abouts. Long, octogon barrel, accurate with just about any 22 rimfire ammo. I also put a Tang sight on mine and improves the sight picture. More accurate than I can hold.

I special ordered mine out of WalMart around '98 or '99

One thing I have discovered about the Marbles tang sight. With the aperture in, it's almost impossible to find a squirrel in it. Take the aperture out and it becomes like a ghost ring sight and I can find the squirrel to shoot.

I've had a few el cheapo offers for mine, but no one has talked any serious money for it. They want it, but aren't willing to pony up what it would take to get me to part with it. I don't think I would be able to find another one to replace it with so it would have to be enough for me to get a better 22.
