Winchester 100

Post by Blind Hawg »

Cleaned up a 1966 .308 Winchester model 100 for son in law last year. Bolt was jammed. I steamed out the dents and BLO'D the stock. It jammed despite chamber cleaning but seemed to work when I started using full length sizing die. Then it started all over again. I gave it back to him and told him to make the first shot count. What am I missing?

I’d start with a full disassembly & detail cleaning. Trouble is, the Model 88 & 100 require several slave pins to reassemble. How much do you like this SIL?

I had to google slave pins. Yeah, they would have been handy, that action can be a %@*&$ to reassemble. When we got it, the hammer was locked forward under the bolt. I suspect previous owner let the rear action screw go loose. The price was right, $0.00, except for used mag off Ebay (maybe the mag?)
