Anyone have one of these? Theyre customizable and fairly affordable and Hickok45 did a review of one in 45 he seemed pleased with. The companys owned by Taurus now for what its worth

I eant to pick up a new caliber and im leaning toward 45 which has me interested in a single action, much to my own surprise and just wanted a third opinion

Cabela's had the .22 Heritage Rough Riders on sale last Thursday for $139.99, one day only. Wife said OK, so I got there one minute after the doors opened. Walked back to the gun counter and there were FIFTY guys already in line to get them. By the time I got one in my hands (if I did) and then got though the 4473/background check bs, I'd have been there for four hours or more.

So I said hell no, and went home. So, I can't testify about their quality, but they seem to sell. Didn't know they made .45's.

They have the .22s at Academy for $99 some times.

They look spray painted.

Yeap they also have 357 http://www.heritagemfg.com/product_listing.cfm?cat_id=3

Personally i dont shoot or own anything rimfire, and i already have double action 357s so the 45 would be the only one id be interested in

As to finish ive seen them at a gunshow once but i never took the time to actually hold one. I wonder if the cheaper 22s are finished more...well, cheaply?

My uncle had a heritage 22 the frame cracked and the gun was useless after that. They replaced it under warranty and my uncle sold it. It wasn't even being used it was in his gun safe and got it out and found it had a crack. Maybe it fell in the safe hard to say.

I have a couple of 22 conversion models.
One has the 6.5 barrel and the other has the 3" barrel with birds head grip.
The 22s have aluminum frames and are sprayed with some kind of coating.
the cylinder and barrel are steel, thats about it.
They shoot good and go bang.
I keep one at the back door to grab when I walk outside to the chicken coop.
Or I throw one in the tackle box or in my back pocket when I walk down to the fishing pond.
I keep them loaded with 22 mag.
The finish easily wears off.
I keep the Rugers in there boxes, safe and snug, out of the weather.
