Yep... I was happy about it.

However, I've never owned a ported gun, so it remains to be seen if that will be a factor toward either liking or disliking it, once the rubber hits the road.

What type porting? I've shot and shot along side Magnaport guns and they can be noisy when you're beside them. I didn't think it was too bad behind the triger, but then you have other things like sight picture on your mind then.

Make smoke,

Here's the one I'm getting. Did the Super Blackhawk ever come ported from the factory?

That looks like it was done by Magnaport International. I don't think Ruger ever offered any with porting.

I don't think Ruger sold anything like that.

You can barely see the Magnaports on this half of my 444 combo. They seem to work well.

The other half is in my avatar.

I'll not say that they did for sure but it is fact that LIpsey's and TALO have both commissioned special runs in the past that have included Mag-na-porting from either Colt or Smith as well as other distributers.

My Colt Kodiak was factory magnaported as part of the package.
My Smith & Wesson 629 Classic Comp came from the factory with the 6.5" compensated barrel and went back to the custom shop, so I'm told, for a trigger jog, trigger contouring and other directed touches.

The ports aren't too bad... unless you are standing under a tin roof!
ESPECIALLY if you aren't the one pulling the trigger.

What is interesting regarding the porting is the fact that the gun is either unfired or barely fired.

My LGS, who I trust, tells me it is from a regular customer who is a collector, more than a shooter, and is aging and thinning his herd.

It is a 1976 issue and it seems unlikely that a non-shooter would go to the expense of porting it, which makes me wonder if it might be a special run by someone like LIpsey's or TALO...
